Car hire & PDC

Hello guys and what a great site you's have here.

I'm travelling out in 2 weeks time and hiring a car from AUTOREISEN.

I've been reading reports that it takes quite a while to actually collect it, as I'm arriving on a sat @6pm will that be any quicker? I really don't want to have to hang about for a long time as it's my partners birthday that day and want to get to our hotel in PDC to relax and hit the town as they say!

Our 1st visit here although we've been to Gran Canaria a few times in autumm and loved it.

Staying at the Elena apartments beside the C.C.(what is it really like), Got it quite cheap and it seems to be in the centre of all the nightlife which normally enjoy even though we've hit the big 4 0 . :)

So I will :ty in advance for any help.

Sean

I would imagine it would be empty on a Saturday so you should be fine,, as autoreisen has a desk inside as well as outside at the airport,, when you come through go straight to the desk and sort out you car while you are waiting for your luggage to arrive and you can then leave straight away.. Have a great time!

Do what I do and head straight over to the Autoreisen desk and leave the wife and wean to get the luggage. I usually have the keys in my hand before the cases come through. :)

Thats what I'll be doing :kzx Then I'll wait outside and have a wee smoke while she gets the case.

Only taking one large case and two very small (can carry on) rug sacks which because it'll be her birthday that day, I'll carry them as far as the car. :agry

So I could have a the car and be in PDC within 15mins then although I have never been there I'm hoping it should be easy to find!!!

I got the car keys before the case even came through. They have a window beside the luggage carrosel. It took a further two mins to be sitting in the car and driving out of the car park just across the street.

I was hoping for an upgrade but was happy with what they gave me.It was like a Clio but a convertable!!!!

Drove about 180 miles and it cost €10 to replace the petrol.

While I was there someone kicked the door mirror when it was parked overnight and broke it. When I told them when I returned the car they said thats okay! I suppose I'll find out if they took anything from my card when I get my next bill.

So to sum it up, I was happy with them and would use them again.

Strangely I stayed at the Elena a few years ago and my hire car had it's wing mirror kicked off. Hmmm!

I bought a tube of superglue and stuck it back on. :)

The holiday was really brilliant 9/10.

Did most of the tour things in the car so a lot cheaper.

My other half cried as we were leaving the Elena as we met some great people and made plenty of friends.

The car door mirror was broke half way up the street towards Spenders bar.It was the glass that was broke not the whole thing.

Good to hear you wern't charged for the scratches.

Looking to go back maybe in march.

Will go back to the Elena as thought it was brilliant for location and price and was as good as any higher graded hotel I've ever stayed in.
