Tapas

Hi

Can anyone tell me where I can get authentic TAPAS in Puerto Del Carmen? Been going there for a few years now but haven't found anywhere off the beaten track so to speak.

We are staying at the centre of Puerto Del Carmen, near to the American Indian Bar where Question play.

Cheers:cheers

There is a Tapas bar in the old town. When you go from the strip to the old town, walk down towards the harbour from the Biosphere shopping centre. When you get to the crossroads, turn left and it's approx 50 yards along there on the oposite side, past the tobacconist. It was to re-open on Monday 25th August. Its name is Bodogon Tapas Bar.

'Correos' in Tias which is just behind PDC has amazing tapas!, we go there every year. Really authentic spanish feel to it and friendly staff, I would highly reccomend it.

Monkey,

Correos in Tias is indeed excellent, but I wouldn't describe Tias as "just behind PDC" - it's 5 km and a few hundred feet up from PDC !

I also believe there’s a new place somewhere in Centro La Hoya in between the Biosfera and Old Town harbour (on the nasty corner), but not tried that yet.
Also try La Lonja which is the big square building close to the church in the Old Town which is excellent for tapas and if it’s any recommendation is frequented by locals.
Sometimes at the restaurants with a bigger menu we order a few starters with some canary spuds and a salad have that as a tapas, Casa Roja in the Old Town is good for this.

Some web sites ......

Correo in Tias :- http://www.bodegacorreo.golanzarote.com/

Bodegan, old Town :- http://www.bodegonbar.golanzarote.com/
