Jimbo,
If you shop around you can get food and drink for those prices, but that's more towards the lower price range, most places will be dearer.

Not Cheap

I am just back from lanzarote and it was my 5th time there, I have been to tenerife also, and prices in lanzarote are way more expensive than tenerife,
Foodwise - Dinner for 2 ; 3 course with bottle of wine will set you back between €40 to €60

Drinks are more expensive cheapest pint of beer was €3.50 and that was in an English bar, I have found over the last number of years each time I go back it is getting more expensive.

Being from Ireland I was very disappointed that most of the Irish bars we visited charged more for a pint than what we would pay at home !!!

Acctran,

Can I assume that you were mostly drinking in Irish bars ??

€3.50 is the most I've ever paid for a pint of beer in PDC and there's places where you can get a pint for €1.50. That's for the local draught stuff, Estrella / San Mig /Allhambra etc, You'll pay more for Guinness and bitter etc

Yes we mainly went to Irish Bars, but not all the time and a pint of local beer and either a bottle of budweiser or coors lite came to between €7.50 to €10.00 in all the irish bars which was a total rip off, but as mentioned the cheapest pint we got was €3.50 for local stuff which was in a an english bar in the old town. Fair enough if you could get a pint for €1.50 but unfortunately we didn't find these places. We still had a great time though.

As pointed out Tenerife is way cheaper than lanzarote by far. We used to get a pint of local beer and a bottle of imported lager in tenerife for less than €4 in most places in tenerife.

I just find that the last few times we have been to lanzarote the prices are going up and up !!

I'm also from Ireland. There are loads of bars where you pay €1.50 a pint all long the strip. It's written outside them on boards. We were in Puerto Del Carmen last week and found everything including food and drink to be great value.

prices

We have been to PDC 7 times and we think its cheap have u ever holidayed in Portugal, we thought we were going to have to re mortgage the house there. We ate some really good meals at cheap prices all along the strip and we found beer ay 1.30 euros a pint. local spirits and mixers good prices. What a fab resort going back August. Never been to Tenerife apart from a cruise stopover in Capital. If u want some really good prices and want a change try Ibiza- Santa Eualia or Es Cana, its on a par with PDC.
