Returning to Playa Blanca

Hi,

I posted on here last September, when we were thinking of going to Playa Blanca & where people reconmmended to stay, eat etc & we had a great time!! so much so that we are returning this September for 10 days again, stopping in Cay Sun Beach, so i was just wondering if much has changed?? & with the exchange rate no so good, have people found meals & drinks to be more expensive? as we are going self catering?? any recommendations too?

Cheers,

Paul

ok, probably haven't asked this right, just wondering what the average price was this year compared with last, as we found it wasn't too expensive last year?? for a 3 course meal & drinks??
also can anyone recommend a SC apts complex a bit nearer the Dorado beach & promenade than Sun Beach??

thanks again,

Paul

I don't think it will be anymore expensive there it will just cost you more because of the poor exchange rate...

I worked it out that if I spent £1500 last year it will cost me £1850 for the same thing

Don't know if this helps?

Thanks Tracey, we've decided to go to Playa for 11 days this time, stopping at Bahia Blanca Rock (bit nearer the beach!) & flying with XL Airways, booked it through Travel Republic off the t'internet, has anyone booked with them before or flown with XL???
we're trying to remember the best restaurants we went in last year, Chinese with rude glasses!! & there was a restaurant right on the promenade near to the smaller beach, where the fireworks were let off?? sure we'll find them again!! can anyone recommend any others???

thanks,

only five weeks to go!!!

Paul

Hi Paul,, We are here now and do seem to be spending a lot,, averaging about £130 a day,, so maybe a bit more expensive but mainly down to the exchange rate...

We have flown with xl many times,, they are fine..

Smile pricing

Hi Paul
The chinese you mentioned is Jumbo,s
The price for say 3 people on a fixed menu, last September was 12 euros per head

The price on Friday when I was there was 12 euros. same price.
The only thing that has increased are food bought at supermarkets, due to transport increased costs and fuel, which this morning was 99cents a litre in Playa Blanca
Still only 81p Uk money

So dont worry too much, still cheaper than the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. weather here today is sunny all the way with temps around 30dC
Have a good one

Hi Razor, We have used Travel Republic many times - great company. XL let us down very badly 2 years ago, swore never to use them ever again.
