Playa Blanca Here We Come!!!

Hi everyone

I haven't been on here in years. Don't know why really. I think I just got out of the habit. Nice to see the same names still around.

We are heading out to Playa Blanca in 3 weeks time. :eek Whilst we have been in PB many times we have never took a 2 week holiday there. I hope we have done the right thing and don't end up legging it to PDC to hire an apartment. :eek

Those of you who remember me will know that for me there is nowhere in the world like Puerto Del Carmen. We love it. We have however found though with the euro exchange rate that things have got very expensive. It costs us at least £100 per day just for food, lollies for the kids etc. Therefore we decided to go the All Inclusive route. PDC don't really have AI except for a couple of apartment complexes who are trying it but I don't think that is what we are looking for. So for the past 2 Julys we have found ourselves in Costa Teguise. We have had great holidays there but quite honestly if you weren't in an AI there I don't really know what you would do.

So this time we are trying the Papagayo Arena Resort in PB. We are now a party of 5 as I had another baby last October.

As always we will be back in PDC at Halloween for 2 weeks (the school just loves me). We didn't get there in Oct 2007 because we had just had the baby. Only the fact that Christmas was so close we would have got out but it didn't happen. So we haven't been in Lanza since last July. The kids are feeling very hard done by.

Anyway I hope you are all well. If anyone has any great tips or must visit places in PB please do let me know.

Hey Jackie, I am going to Playa Blanca in 3 weeks time as well and its the second year running we will have been to the resort. Playa Blanca is not as lively as Puerto Del Carmen as i am sure you will know, but to us it was just perfect. Some beautiful bars and restaurants where you can sit outside, people watch and take in the stunning sea views. We also became enfatuated by the Fuerteventura ferries, though i have no idea why. Papagayo Area is quite a good location, there is a small shopping centre in the middle and a lovely man made beach in front. A short walk round the corner takes you into the main area and like i say there are plenty of bars restaurants on the front and shops and supermarkets on the main street behind.

If you like Chinese then you simply have to go to a place called Jumbo on the front. Fantastic Food, Great views, exceptional value and the staff are really great with kids. The restaurant next door whose name escapes me was also fantastic all of the above applied to that as well.

No wonder you're a bit sheepish, sneaking off to Costa Teguise and PB !! You were once described at the PDC Queen !

Anyway have a great time in PB, wave to PDC on yer way past.

Cheers - Ole

I still am. I'll certainly never be the CT Queen that is for sure. Rising costs have sent us in the direction of All inclusive which just doesn't happen in PDC. I do understand and appreciate why it hasn't happened in PDC. Awe well roll on October when I will be back to PDC and cursing the euro.

Nice to see you are still around Ole. Do you still frequent the Jable?

Jackie,
I can see why you would want to go AI with kids, I thought they did it at Logo Verde in PDC (or whatever it’s called) but I’ve heard it’s rubbish anyway. As you say not much (if any AI in PDC, but it still gets blamed for downturn in bars and restaurants etc, I could never square that one off ?
Yes, I can still be found loitering around the Jable from time to time but you might not have heard, they’ve started operating Club 18-30 from there since the beginning of this month. I’m not sure how that’s going to affect it really, I’m sure it’ll become a bit livelier but I think we’ll give it another go and decide ourselves if it’s still OK. I just can’t bear the thought of not having that view !
Cheers - Ole
