Help!
I would welcome any info at all on the areas of Play Blanca. My partner and I thinking about hiring a small villa at the end of the year, however, all the wesites I refer to, mention different areas of Playa Blanca and it appears to be very spread out. Is this the case?
We are looking for a fairly central place to stay as we don't intend to hire a car.
Any info at all- with some pointers would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Holiday Bungalows Playa Blanca

Hi there , the main areas in playa Blanca starting from the western end are Faro Park, Shangri la, Carlos park, Atlantic Gardens, Montana Roja, Virginia Park Jardines del Sol Faro Park and Shangri La are way out although there is a bus service into Playa Blanca. there is also a small commercial complex with a few restaurants 10 mins from Faro Park. Montona Roja, Virginia Park are set back on the main road to the lighthouse and too far to walk to Playa Blanca . I wouldnt stay at Virginia Park anyway even if it was nearer the centre. There are some nice private villas in and around Montana Roja but again it is too far from playa Blanca to walk. The newer developments in the east of the resort are mainly Las Colorades which is the other side of the new Marina Rubicon. Again these are a fair walk ( id say about 25 to 30 mins from the centre? although there are quite a few eateries in and around the Marina.

As there are just the two of you I would reccomend Las Brisas or Las Casitas or Casas del Sol. these three complexes have communal pools and consist of one and two bedroomed semi detached bungalows.

These three complexes are located just across the road from the Harbour which is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Playa Blanca where the town beach is located. There is a hippodino supermarket 2 minutes from Las Brisas. Las Brisas is the largest and has more facilities. (large pool with seperate kiddies pool, two tennis courts, all day snack bar and small restaurant, also evening entertainment in the bar. The other two complexes are quieter but nontheless the same standard. You should be able to rent a 2 bedroom villa (good sized) from anything between 300 to 500 pounds depending upon the time you intend to go. Check holidaylettings.co.uk or ownersdirect.com or espanabreaks.com for private owners. If you google las Brisas Playa blanca you can also book direct through their reception.

I have stayed at all three so can reccomend them all. Casas del Sol is sea water pool though, not everyones taste (pardon the pun)

good luck

Many thanks indeed for this info and your website. Just wish I had posted a thread before doing my own research. Could have saved myself a lot of time! Really useful, so thank you.
I was aware of the websites as I've used Owners Direct previously for other holidays.
One slight issue- We were looking to identify a villa with its own swimming pool and not necessarily in a complex. Is the accommodation mainly built in complexes?
I appreciate your advice.
Kind Regards

Accomodation

Hello again, there are private villas with pools but as far as im aware most of these are not really in the centre..they do tend to be further out. Casas del Sol, Las Brisas and Las Casitas all have communal pools im afraid but to be honest depending upon the time of year you go out there the pools can be quite quiet..especailly Casas del Sol which mainly seems to have mature occupants. The reason most private villas are further out is because all the hotel chains bought up the prime land in the centre when the resort was being developed. Try a search for Los Calamares. This is a residential site just up behind Las Brisas. Also Parque del Rey may be an option. This is about 15 minutes walk to the centre of Playa Blanca . Sorry cant be more help. i will do some searches myself also I do know a few people in lanzarote who may be able to help. There is a guy who runs a bike hire shop in Punta Limones Commercial centre. I know he lives at the back of Playa Blanca I will post back here when I have some more info.

good luck

Hello again, made a few enquiries. As I thought originally private villas with pools are like hens teeth close to the centre....a resident has just sent me a mail saying Parque del Rey (15 to 20 Mins) and Los Calamares 6 to 7 mins are your best bets. Try lanzarotelates.com and luxurylanzarotevillas.com...contact sue or bob respectively ..say elle draper referred you....check out the locations using google earth to give yourself a better idea...PS the contact in Lanzarote also knows someone who has two properties on Los Calamares...she will contact them to see if they are available and let me know..

But thatīs at least 2 kms from the beach. As guillermo says, you wonīt find villas with private pools for rent near the centre of Playa Blanca. Itīs all complexes amd hotels.
Look for places further out but close to the coastal promenade where at least the walk in is pleasant and a taxi back painless.

The Costa Papagayo area is fairly near the centre too, within walking distance and there are plenty of villas with private pools available.

yes that's true - by the side of villas del sur there is a bus stop which runs round the area - twice an hour and it's punctual too, it goes to marina, beaches, town and harbour - the bus costs around 1.20 euros p.p. per journey
