The general opinion seems to be good - friends of our stayed there a couple of times, no complaints. However I have heard that the food served there is pretty dire (presumably they have a snackbar or something). There are plenty of decent local cafes and bars, and there is always the supermarket if you don't mind cooking.

There are a number of mini-supermarkets only a few minutes walk from the Princess Yaiza which is quite near you if I remember right, there was one practially overlooking the Playa Dorada at the top of the hill which seemed to be quite reasonable and had good opening hours.

At the bottom of the hill near the town beach there are the much larger chains, like Netto and Hyperdino. My price data is about 18 months out of date, but the pound is stronger against the Euro now (at least until the emergency budget - so change money before the 22nd!) so should be better.

Have a nice trip.
