these scams are island wide. be very careful
the other scam, is, you chose a camera, and you card is charged, then the salesman "suddenly" finds a much better one, persuades you to buy it, then charges card again, BUT does NOT refund the first transaction.
There are some reputable shops, but finding them is very difficult. I would avoid all of them

Can get much better deals with full guarantees in the UK or on the Web-not worth getting involved with those rascals. Anything that appears to be "Too good to be true" you can bet your bottom dollar it is!

I've always stuck to buying from Visanta in either Puerto del Carmen or Arrecife, just research what you want and the price you can buy it for on the internet first.
