Winter in Warsaw and a little bit about the city

And now for something completely different, if anyone remembers Monty Python's:)
Yesterday was the first day of snow in Warsaw this winter, which is quite strange in this area. I also added another picture of this big ugly building - this is the "Culture and Science Palast" build 1954 on Stalin's order (they destroyed a lot of old classical buildings in the center of Warsaw to rise this s.h.i.t.), which is like the memorial of communism nowaydas for us. Actually we got used to it, but I still see it as a reminder of bad bad times.
he inscription on the advertisement you can see reads "Don't worry about anything at all" - it's almost black humor in this conditions:)
I know this isn't Lanza, but I just wanted to show you a little bit of the place I'm at right now.
Greetings!:)

Ah yes I remember the CSP very well. I used to go the so called night club at the back (in the round bit!). When in Warsaw I used to live in the old Bristol Hotel (opposite the Europeski also near to the University): we had our office in the hotel. I think they knocked the place down or totally refurbished it in th 80s The snow picture reminds me of the market area that was not to far from where you took it. It was so cold in the winter (-20C on average) that they used to sell the frozen vegetables from plastic trays! No need for freezers then.

Cheers
Jon
