Looking for someone I know...

Hi all

I am seriously thinking of movin to Lanzarote! I have been there on hols 4 times now [to Playa Blanca but travelled all over the island] and just love the whole ambience, the eco-friendly attitude, the people, the x-pats [who seem not to be the standard Costa Packet lot], the scenery, the sea, well, just everything. That said, i know living there is a whole world away from holidaying there, which is why i am still in UK and not yet fully decided to make the move.

However, am also looking for a friend I lost touch with years ago and, as i am planning another camping hol this year [at Papagayo this time, no luxury hotels for me anymore, lol] would love to look him up and buy him a beer/coffee/whatever his poison is these days..

He lived in San Bartolome circa 1980 - 85, and I can only remember bits of his address [street was San Simon buit cannot remember postal code or house no etc] - any advice on how to access public residential records for Lanzarote residents on the net?

Should add that i am not a vengeful ex-wife, mother of any of his children or a stalker, he was just a good friend; an old hippy in a young body who loved Led Zep [we met at their 1979 last Knebworth gig in the UK], motorbikes, Mini Coopers, um, herbal refreshments and natural wonders and I would love to see how his life turned out and whether he ever got to see any real snow [his one desire in life, bless]! To that end, have therefore not included his name [yet] cos don't want to be thought of as someone using this as a 'dating site'......:peep

Nice to hear that you love the island Jilly. You can't really access public records here, not sure you can anywhere these days with data protection.

The island is pretty small, so your best bet is going to be to post his name on here, and someone who knows him will pass your details on to him. Other options are to try Googling him, as he may be on Facebook, Friend Reunited or one of those sites, so you may be able to make contact that way.

Give us a bit more info on your man Jilly! It's a small island and there is a great network, so a good chance of being able to track him down if he's still here.

Regards your camping trip, I have heard recently that the camp site a Papagayo won't be open this year but you could try Famara or La Graciosa instead. Famara is a port a loo and hosepipe shower but good fun and La Graciosa has a toilet and showerblock so a bit more civilized!

His name is Miguel Corujo de Leon, he would be about 45 now I guess.

PS ta for the heads up re camping Juvela, will give it some thought [may just go the bargain basement route and have a week in a s/c apt in Matagorda [quiet beach I beleive?]
