Looking for info on La Famara

Hi folks, Does anybody have information relating to La Famara. Im going surfing and just have a little info, ie that its a small fishing village. I was just wondering what its like at the weekend, any good bars, whats the athmosphere like around there? Friendly? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :-)

It is a while since I was there, but yes there are bars and restaurants - it is a lovely little place. I seem to recall stopping at a new veggie bar just outside for a cool drink the last time I was there.

The surf is wonderful and the area is beautiful. Travelling by car is easy, quiet well paved roads well sign posted etc, but I am sure you will need a car, it is pretty remote up that way.

Hi Mate,

Famara is on the north west of the island. It is a pretty village with some good restaurants/bars. There is a huge beach backed by beautiful cliffs. The west of the island is always windier than the east and the sea is always choppy. The waves on Famara are good surfing conditions. A mate of mine was there a couple of weeks ago and reckoned the surfing was great. He came home with 16 stitches in the back of his head though after meeting a surf board at speed. A lot of sail and kite boarders go there.
