What is your favorite place/ piece of art work of his or don't you like it ?

Before my first trip to Lanza many years ago I had zero interest in art or culture I'm ashamed to say, Manrique changed all that, I am certain it's his ever lasting legacy that gives the island the magic feel I so much love. If he has been instrumental in holding back progress.....good and may that legacy last for a long time to come, however I fear economic pressure will gradually have it's way over Manriques visions.

His gas bubble concept for a home is my favourite place to visit.

I do like the Cactus gardens, the way it's laid out and I just love these toilet signs.

Cesar Manrique

Peggy
Lanzarote is Manrique, his hand is all over the island, without him goodness knows what Lanzarote would be like today, it has kept the island so different from all the other islands, but will his legacy keep the uniqueness of the Island, or will greed for the tourist money turn Lanza into another tourist trap without thought for culture and heritage? thank goodness there are many on Lanza that want to keep the heritage and fight to do so, still no high rise buildings or billboards litter the island the building work keeps on but still keeping to the Manrique tenet. Iluvlanza, please do not give up hope that Lanza will remain unique and hopefully, economic pressure will realize that Lanza's beauty is in its simplicity, a small unique island that does not need the quick in quick out tourists but the solid tourist that appreciates the islands uniqueness and diversity that they will visit time and time again, as we do,a home from home albeit with much better weather!
