Graffiti

Is there a problem with graffiti in Lanzarote or are they more tolerant than us ?
It was very noticeable this year, all over buildings walls and inside the bus's it was on the seats ceilings and floors.
Anyone else noticed it ?

Hi Peggy. I can't speak for buses, as I haven't used a Lanzarote one yet. But yes, Arrecife and Costa Teguise in particular have had a problem with graffiti. I know that Costa Teguise residents have been getting together to sort it out, and there's money going to them to help, as well as to improve the pavements there too. Hopefully it'll look a bit better.

PDC has got pennies heading their way for pavements and sewers too.

I'm glad they're doing something about it. Although I must admit, I'd got used to it. It wasn't until a couple started talking to me who moaned and moaned, about Lanzarote, the weather, the wind, the food, and the graffiti, I got so annoyed with them, and began to notice the graffiti more and more.

There's just some people that will moan about anything whenever they can. Sod em lol.

When we first went to CT... we were quite shocked at how run down and graffiti'd some places were. But we've spent more time there now... and have seen some really lovely areas. We like CT, and go probably about once a week.

My grandma (who's older than the Island now lol) swears by Costa Teguise, and had holidayaed there twice a year right from when the resort first started... until my granddad died about 6 years ago. She's not been back to the Island since - but now we live here, she's keen to return. Obviously she'll be staying in Playa Blanca with us, but we'll be taking her to her old haunts too. Should be full of very fond memories for her. Just got to keep her off the sangria, or there's no stopping her! Just like her eldest granddaughter! :giggle

I was pointing out the graffiti to my husband one day and said" Look it's even on that newly painted door" "Silly old b*gger, it's his name" he said.:doh
