| Deserting Lanzarote for a while. I have been holidaying in Lanzarote since I was in my late teens - I am now 36. I have seen many changes in Lanzarote (in particular Playa Blanca) over the years - some good and some bad, but I still love the island and it's magic. I am now married and after honeymooning on the island seven years ago, my husband is also addicted and we have visited twice a year ever since, usually February and September. However, after our last holiday in September we were quite shocked that Playa Blanca had changed so much over the year and that there were so many new developments (many of them unfortunately empty). We had a fabulous holiday with fantastic weather and stayed in a beautiful villa, but just felt that there was something missing for us. The local people didn't seem as welcoming as they once were. We have decided to change our plans for 2007 and will be holidaying in Austria in February and Croatia in September. Lanzarote will always be a special place for us and I would like to think we will return again in 2008. I hope that everyone who holidays in 2007 has a fantastic time and hope to be back soon. | Deserting Lanzarote for a while As I stated in my post Steve I have been visiting Lanzarote for twenty years so am familiar with the whole island. I have also stayed in CT, PC and PDC over the years and have visited every corner of the island in our hire car. Playa Blanca happens to be my favourite out of all the resorts on Lanzarote and the resort that I first visited, so the changes here are just more noticable to me. |
