First Trip

Who can remember their first trip to Lanzarote ?.
Mine was a last deal, a week in Costa Teguise, and I went on just about all the sightseeing trips available, including a camel ride.:yikes

Mine was the first holiday my wife has ever booked all on her own.
We were at loggerheads as she wanted to go to Greece and I wanted to go yet again to Tenerife.
In what can only be described as an act of great defiance (good for her I hear all you ladies cry) she booked 2 weeks in Lanzarote in Matagorda while I was at work!:angry
Her reasoning was that by booking it she had stood firm and not returned to Tenerife, but by booking Lanzarote I wouldn't be to angry :angry by still going to the Canaries.
The closer the holiday came and the more research she did, she started to worry that I would find it to quiet and boring, but, I think it came at the right time in my life and I was that stressed out by the time that we arrived that I found the peacefulness absolutely refreshing and I fell head over heels in love with the place.
God, reading this back I sound like a right MCP but I would just like to point out that I do wear the trousers in my house when my wife is out!:giggle

Bought a very cheap timeshare in PDC , unseen, about 13 years ago planning to use it for exchanges, then decided to have alook at it. Our first reaction on arrival was-help!- what have we done!! However the time share place was great and within a few days the island had cast it's spell and we were and still are besotted and have been back nearly every year since, still at the same place which has now achieved a Gold Crown. Back again in November - can't wait!

Help - I seem to have lost my identity! When I tried to send my reply to Peggy's post I was told I was not recognised and advised to ask for my user name and password-but they gave me new ones and now I see I have become lima lima with a long number for a password. Confused? - I most certainly am!!! So for the time being at least, lima lima is your old pal Jojim!

First visited Lanzarote in 1988 and stayed in Lanzarote Park Playa Blanca (there wasn't a lot of choice way back then). I think the hotel Playa Dorada had just been built. Hardly any shops and just a few restaurants in the town.

I've seen lots of changes in the eighteen years I've been holidaying in Lanzarote, but I still love it. Going again a week on Thursday for a fortnight - roll on.

You are not the only one with that problem, I met up with Sue58 last week and she can't get on either.:shkhd

Maramar, I never tire of Lanzarote, I have to wait until next March before I can go.:mus

June 1990, a late deal and we ended up at La Floresta appartments in Playa de los Pocillos. The appartments were brand spanking new, we got an absolute bargain, had a fantastic holiday and were hooked.

Great Question.

First time Feb 06, for two weeks in a hotel, liked it, bought a place there and then.
:yikes

Been back a couple of times ~ a couple of weeks to settle in and then a long weekend. Love it to bits.

Back again very soon for a couple of weeks then Mrs StevePB seems to have a rolling program of trips booked

First visit

September 05 spent two weeks in PB and had the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. Went self catering for the first time and loved the freedom to do what we liked when we liked and eat in different places.

Going back in October for another two weeks as we really liked Lanzarote.

I am normally a bit dubious about returning to places in case they don't live up to the first visit, but I am sure this won't apply here.

Shame the bank balance doesn't allow more frequent trips :sigh

A member of my family has been going to Lanzarote twice a year for years and just loves it. We went last year because we couldn't agree where else to go and both loved it......hence the return visit to PB.

Casas Del Sol - Playa Blanca 1985

Marama - are you sure about your dates? The Playa Dorada didn't exist till the mid/late 90s!!

First Trip

I can't remember when my first trip was but I think it was about 8 years ago. I fell in love with the island immediately and get there an average of twice a year although I will be there agian in November for the third time this year.

I love the place so much that I will be looking to buy an apartment.

I hear it's been a tad warm out there in the last few weeks.
