Sewage smells in Lanzarote!

I thought I would open an interesting thread, which I'm sure everyone relate to.......................
I find it amazing about the amount of complaints I hear from people (tourists and locals) who moan about the sewage smells that are on the island!
Those of you who are in the Playa Blanca gang, can back me up on this one!
Before typing anything......here are a few questions that may help you write your comment............

Where have you smelt sewage works?:wsnm

Would it put you off, if you were on holiday, sat on your sun lounger, sipping on a cocktail with a strong wiff of p**h hanging over you? :vomit

Or don't you think anyone cares about it? :nono

Would you appreciate if something was actually done about it?

Do you have problems with sewage smells in your own home? :lol

Look forward to your comments

Yes, it would put me off, but no, I've never smelt any in PB or anywhere else on the island.

I must say, I've never noticed the smell, only once when it rained and the septic tank backed up and filled the baths!!!!!
If it was constant then it would put me off, but not the odd whiff.
Don't they use the sewage to water the plants ?
As for home well there's nothing a bit of air fresher wouldn't put right, but then it's the men in the house hold I hold responsible for that.:giggle :giggle :giggle

Grey Water

They use grey water for the plantings, not sewage. The water from sinks, baths, and showers, and it can get a bit raw esp. as it evaporates. I think you also do get some pretty good wiffs from some local treatment etc. , I find it quite common, and yeah I wish they could do something about it, what I don't know.:fanlanza
