Fuel Charges

I've been looking up flghts to Lanzarote today, Thompsons are charging a £70 fuel charge, while other airlines are charging £50,so how can they charge £20 more than anyone else,do they take the scenic route.:sigh

Well whatever way you look at it, this does not augur well for any upcoming trips for some of us Peggy...:sad

Even a £50 fuel surcharge is going to dampen my enthusiasm..:sad

Typical Thompsons though, always got their eye to the main chance eh???:sigh

XL not bad found a good flight £313 including fuel tax for 2 ,all I need to do now is found somewhere in my budget to stay.:sigh

why its possible to get a flight from london to here (lanza)
for £130 return with BA

but almost impossible to do it the other way round......:cry

I have yet to find a "reasonable" priced flight let alone a "cheap" one....... maybe Im expecting too much?

It´s because they hang on to the outward (to Arrecife) seats until the last minute, trying to sell packages, Terri. So you´re often forced to buy a return and not use the return flight. :(
