Good Morning Lanzatote

I hope you had a better night, and have woken up to a lovely sunny day, with everything looking much brighter for you all after yesterdays trauma.

How is for those of you who hire out property, are the tourist understanding or frustrating ? What happens if a property is inhabitable, must be a nightmare.

Mornin Peggy,

Our little world is getting back to normal. The electricity went on at home late yesterday afternoon, just after I bought a gross of candles! Mobiles are still down in the north though. The sun is shining this morning, the wind has dropped and I got up at six and managed to clean one half of the pool before work. There's so much mud in it that I'm having to empty the pump filter every two minutes while I'm vacuuming.

We don't do holiday lets, but we do have around 100 properties on long term let, and I was expecting loads of calls from tenants, but we only got one! From a couple whose pool solar heating system had simply disappeared off their roof overnight.

The saddest thing was seeing the Manriqué mobile at the Tahiche roundabout in bits all over the island - hope it can be repaired.
