No Show Return Transfer Just been to Lanzarote for the very first time, had an absolute ball until the return transfer back to the airport failed to arrive!!!! Tarnished our memories completely. We were waiting patiently at the apartment complex entrance more than 30 minutes earlier than the stated pick up time, and, as the clock crept on, began to get a little apprehensive - perhaps the transfer is a bit late due to a previous pick up / drop off? We were due to be collected at 18:10, finally, at 18:30, we realised that we had been completely stood up. I rang the contact number - no answer. My husband rang the contact number - no answer. The lovely reception man from our apartments rang the contact number - No answer. "Maybe it's because it's out of normal office time"? The reception man said. WE HAD NOT BEEN GIVEN AN OUT OF HOURS CONTACT NUMBER!!!! To cut a long story short, we managed to drag our luggage down the hill and a passing taxi driver took pity on us (we were purple by then), he quickly deposited us at the airport. We had followed the given instructions to the letter , particularly as we had never visited Lanzarote before and were a bit unsure of how things worked. I've just sent off an e-mail to the company in question, asking for an explanation of how this came to happen, and, asking for a substantial refund on the £50:00 return transfer fee (YEAH!!! YOU READ IT RIGHT - £50:00) that we had paid. Two people travelling from / to Airport / Matagorda - the local driver who saved our bacon by picking us up charged €6.25 - we gratefully gave him €10. So, if my problem isn't resolved shortly, I shall be posting the name and address of this company (based in Matagorda shopping centre) all over the World Wide Web. Thank you for letting me rant - I certainly needed to!!! |
