Lanzarote first timer - HELP!!

Hi All, Never been to Lanzarote before, but, heard great things about the place and can't wait to visit - two weeks to go. Can anyone help me please? I'd like to know if I'd get a better exchange rate with the Euro if I change my holiday spenders from Sterling to the Euro in Lanzarote? Exchange rate today in the sunnish North West of England was €1.219 to the £. What do you experts out there think?

Hola,
You will get a better rate in Lanzarote at one of the cigarette shops who display the rate outside, no comission, In playa Blanca yesterday the tourist rate they offered was 1.24 euros to the pound. Compared to 1.198 in the UK
