Hi We've used record before and found them quite reasonable. However, for the last few years we've booked online with orcarcaniaras and autoreisen as they had better rates. They all seem to provide about the same level of service, just check that you've got what you ordered before you leave the airport, as, like anyone else, they do get it wrong sometimes. Have a great time! Regards

What about doyouspain.com and recordrentacar Thanks for your response Anne I must admit I am tempted by orcar or autoreisen, who I understand are part of the same company ....(?) However, elsewhere on this forum there is a thread where everyone complains about the VERY long queues at the autoreisen desk at the airport waiting to collect hire cars. Have you experienced delays like this? fredwad

Waiting time Hi We've experienced long waits with practically every car we've hired! It seems to be par for the course. I would say that perhaps because Autoreisen are popular you may wait a little longer, but there really isn't much to it. Luck has a lot to do with it! Best wishes Anne

doyouspain i booked a car a couple of months ago in majorca with doyouspain ,it said they had a office in the airport ,this we found out not to be ,there was no office , we were told a minibus would take us on a 10 minute trip to a car hire company ,so we went back in the airport and booked with someone else ,after we complained to douyouspain we were promised a discount off our next car hire ,i sent the details to douyouspain more than 12 times over 3 weeks with no reply ,absolutely disgusting service ,so i have now cancelled the car and booked again with someone else more reliable and who tells the truth .

We actually ended up using autoreisen and would definitely use them again. We had no delays in either picking up or dropping off the car and the car itself was fine - did the job of getting us around - so no complaints whatsoever.

Credit Crunch Unfortunately, it does not look as though we are going to be able to afford to to to Lanzarote in the forseeable future, because of the credit crunch. The cost of everything is going up and our income is not going up as fast, so something has to be economised on, and I think it will be foreign holidays that will have to go for us. fredwad:mus

| Know the feeling! Quote:
Know exactly what you mean! We used to have at least one two week holiday and a sneaky one week on a last minute jobby ;) This year, we've had one week in March in Calero, and have another week booked in September for Menorca. Could only do that because we booked an incredibly cheap deal for Menorca. Something has to go when the pennies are short and as you say, holidays are the first to go. Btw, try going on holiday in Great Britain, even more expensive than abroad. And I wonder why we bother running our own business sometimes, what with all the hassle and people never wanting to pay :swear Our staff are better off than we are and have better holidays!! :rolleyes
