Villages to see with a few shops /restaurants

Hello,

Can anybody help me please?
I am coming over on the 24th of June and want to do a bit of exploring, can anybody advise me on any nice little towns/villages that would be worth a visit away from the main tourist routs.
A few little shops and or bars/restaurant's to while away the time would be good.

Many thanks,

Russell.

Hi Russell
If you are hiring a car (try: autosfamera) then you can more or less cover the whole island in 2 days. My favorite place is Famera and the scenery there is fantastic. You should also try to visit Haria but the drive is down a very steep hill, but then again most of the island is hilly. At the other side is Yaiza and Ugg is really nice with good views again. El Golfo is also nice, make sure you see the water there & the caves nearby. Suprisingly enough the big hotel in Arrecife has a top floor that you can go to and have a drink for a reasonable price. The windows go to the floor & the view is brilliant - well worth a visit. We have been to the island loads of times now and travel around, yet we always find somewhere new every time.
Be very careful with the weather as it is breezy yet really hot (but it does not always feel it).
Wish I was going back in June.....lucky you. Have a very good time and I am sure you cannot go wrong whichever way you go.
