1. We´d ask where possible, if you could keep in topic in the Lanzarote forums (not chat forums).
Drifting off topic causes confusion, annoyance and a loss of interest by members in following discussion.

2. Show respect and courtesy to all other users
Do not allow yourself to be drawn into conflict with another user. We will not accept personal attacks from one user toward another. If a situation arises that you feel may be getting out of hand inform the Administrator via Personal Messaging. We will then attempt to deal with the situation.

3. Use language suitable for a family website .

4. Advertisements will be deleted.

5. For members security, personal email addresses are not allowed in postings.

6. All posts must be written in English.
We reserve the right to remove posts written in other languages.

7. Posts made in capitals or phone text message style are not allowed and will be rewritten or deleted.

8. Posts of a political, racial or sexual nature are not allowed and will be removed.

9. The Administrator´s decision is final and no debate will be entered into.

Can every one take a look at the above; you will find the answer as to why forum posts are being deleted!

I feel you need to define the rule of "Advertising" because advising someone on contacts to help with their holiday, (hotels, places to eat), information in general cannot be classed as advertising, otherwise there would be no need in answering any question ? Just my opinion.

It's obvious that if you recommend a service you've used that is a rival to one of your sponsors the post will be deleted, you'd be as well just saying so, it doesn't take a genius to work it out.

This is stupid.
I got a post deleted in the 'disappearing car hire' thread as I stated that I got car hire from someone else cheaper than a company that was in the previous post.
Guess it's time to find another forum where you can post true findings without the fear of them being deleted.

Assuming this is true, which it seems to be then Admin you need to take note of why prople come onto these forums.

This and other Lanzarote forums are largely for sharing information, views and recommendations whether that's for residents or holidaymakers, it's absolutely fundamental to the forum. If you can't discuss freely and make personal recommendations then there's not a whole lot of point in either posting info or asking for advice. Just about everybody here is active on other lanzarote forums but some of us have chosen to also stick by and give this one some continued support in return for previous happier days when this was the friendliest and possibly most useful of the lanza forums.

If you can't post your preference, for example, for car hire based upon personal recommendation, well that's pretty useless. OK I understand your commercial obligations as well, I don't doubt that but if you censor posts in favour of your advertising clients then you'll lose support on your forum. Sorry.

Well said Ole and I fully agree with what you and others have said here. We are being stomped on with hob nail boots and it will just about finish the forum off if it continues with this over enthusiastic editing and deleting of posts.

No offence meant at all, but asking Spanish people to admin a forum of mostly British members is asking for trouble. It's obvious they don't understand what they are doing.

I couldn't work it out to begin with as I could not see what was offensive about suggesting islandbabe go to the main riding stables on Lanza. :conf I have been reluctant to post since incase I cause offence.

Forum administrators are not easy to find I suppose and it is a hard and thankless task so some patience with Jenica and the elusive Sheik might be called for.:bisous

i was led to believe that a forum was where you exchanged experiences and could recommend anything that you found could be helpful to other users. if we are not allowed to do that then what is the point of posting on this site. over the last couple of days, i have had several posts removed. i assume that this is because of a sponser related thing.why delete a rival weather site when the sponsers weather site contains a link to the same site. it seems very petty to me.so, what to we chat about? how about a very important requirement to your holiday like the weather? only if it a sponser of this site!!!

So this is why it's hardly ever worth looking at this site.:tft I first came to Lanzarote forums via this site, and used to love visiting and chatting with others. That's how I met Jackie H. who is a delight to chat to. These days it seems like a ghost town, and if people are going to be as censored as described, what is the point?:sigh

Sorry to disappoint you Michelle but as for my being Spanish is not true I was born on lanza but my entire family is English, it was of my parents choice to have me over here(not mine) and who better to answers lanza questions of all type's than a bi-cultural person based on lanza? I have the knowledge of a local and the background of being an ex-pat!

As for forum users being censored I doubt it! Posts are only deleted if they interfere with the forum rules... everyone can speak freely of whatever they want to!, Please let’s not turn the forum into some sort of malicious way of offending people!

This is clearly not true, my post recommending Autoreisen from personal experience was deleted with no reason given.

If you delete this you may as well delete my username while you're at it.

There's no point in me posting here if any useful information I give is deleted.

Same here for recommending Autoreisen.
I found them over 150euros cheaper than the froum suggested one, so I posted my findings.
Am in Playa Blanca now.
