Cool Driving on wrong side of the road

Hi there,

We are off to Lanza next week and can't wait. It will be our first visit and we are looking forward to it very much. As we have teenagers, paying full price for some of the excursions are very expensive and I wonder if anyone could tell me about driving over there. I have done some work on Google Earth trying to suss out the roundabouts etc.... Has anyone hired a car before? It will be my first time driving on the wrong side and any tips would be much appreciated. I have read some of the posts from this forum and they say there are no traffic lights only roundabouts. Thanks for your help! I am determined to prove my husband wrong - he says he will not drive and that it is up to me!!!!

The roads are fine in Lanza and it doesn't take long to get used to driving on the wrong side,, you pick it up very quickly,, fortunately There are lots of roundabouts but just take it slowly and watch everyone else and you will be fine.. Have a great time

Thanks very much for your reassurance Tracey! Can't wait now and into single days rather than months and weeks!

Stay in the outside lane at roundabouts no matter which way you're going and just be careful. Lanzarote is a very easy place to drive, you'll be fine.

Tux Cheva Zodiac Overlord59 Tux 64x64 32 Great holiday in fantastic location

Thanks to the two of you who answered my questions on driving on the wrong side of the road. We did hire the car for two days and had a super time doing all the tourist things ourselves. Mind you the kids were laughing at me as we got stopped by the police in the first five minutes of having the car. I was so nervous but he only wanted to do a spot check! I was so worried that I had done something wrong and was ever so cautious! We even managed to find lagomar and saw round Omar Shariff's house! Wonderful holiday and nice apartments. Had a few good nights out in the Scots and Wry. Oasislanz Club is lovely and worth more than a mere 2 stars - shoudl be at least 4 in my opinion. Rancho Texas Country & Western night not worth the £172.00 we paid, but hey it got the kids line dancing and we did have a good time, but def not worth the money! Not so much Gunfight at OK Corral - more like fistfull of dollars - mainly in their hands! Will go back to Costa Teguise hopefully before too long - horrible being back to wind and rain! Happy memories of a lovely holiday. We will be back!
