anyone in the know

Hi
some years ago, we got planning permission for dissabled access to the rear of our house. this was granted and the car ramp was installed at our expense,by the council.
the shops have now been demolished and the council want to build new houses. they have approached us and asked if we would consider giving up the access right so that they can submit their plans for consent.
they have offered us a permanent disabled parking bay at the front of the house, a new garden fence and compensation for the access rights.so far so good.
what i want to know is, are there any rules to calculate the amount of compo, or do we have to take what is offered?

thanks, dave o

I very much doubt there is a calculator as every case would be unique.

In situations like this its a wise move to start recording a log of events and file all correspondace. Note all phone calls with dates and ask for the callers details.

I would try to estimate a reasonable level of compensation myself, don't expect to be better off and make sure you have a jusifacation to support your estimate. Knowing this you can make a decision about wether you are satisfied with the 'offer'.
