Today's Debate

This morning on breakfast time TV ( yes I do get before Lunch), the big debate was:
Should employers allow their employees time off for sick pets?.
What do you think? Should they or shouldn't they ?

I started to type "Oh for goodness sake! Why would anyone ask for that?"

Then I thought about it, and actually it's a sensible question. I had a guy working for me (back in the dark days of the UK) whose poor doggie had a nasty accident (think broken bones, and lots of vet visits). Anyway.. I digress... the decision was made to allow him the time off to sort his doggie out... as he was of more value to us as a happy bunny!

It's paid off considerably for us... and if we were going to get anyone to move out here to help us as our business grows, it would be him! Great guy... shame about his missus lol

The general consensus here here was, it's bad enough having time off for family, having time off for pets is going a little to far. I was lucky to have someone at home to look after my cat when it was very ill with feline aids.

It's a tough one isn't it, Peggy? As a pet owner, I'd obviously be distraught if the little one was poorly. But we work for ourselves now, so it's not an issue.
I don't think I'd dare suggest it though, if I was employed lol

Having just lost a very dear family member AKA Coco the Cocker Spangle I empathise with all dog owners.

BTW do many people have Cocker Spangles on Lanzarote?
