Windy

WOW !

It’s windy here !

My office is just a couple of hundred yards from the end of the runway at Manchester, out of the last 9, 3 made it and 6 went around again, or they’ve gone to try somewhere else because I’ve not seen them try again. Funnily enough, the little prop jobs although they seem to be very unstable on approach seem to be better able to cope with it. Maybe something to do with the centrifugal effect of the props ?? Ooops, spoke too soon, a BA Dash 8 just aborted within feet of the runway. I think that’s 3 out of the last 11 that have managed to land.
Scary !
Ole

Nothing at all landing now, just an odd one having a go - last one was a Jumbo being blown around like a kite, called it a day about 800 yards away. It's quite worrying actually, they're pointing straight at us on their approach.

WILD wind here as well. Next door neighbours large tree has come down, lucky for me it went their way and has absolutely flattened their shed.

Just come in and had a job to walk, everyone in the street laughing as we just kept coming to a standstill the wind is so strong.

Deep snow this morning- as a result I couldn't keep my appointment at the gym and Jim couldn't keep doctor and dentist appointments. Coouldn't get the car on to the road and what buses there are weren't running. Good news was that daughter-in-law couldn't get to work so I was excused baby sitting duties- coudnt have got there anyway.! Should have done all kinds of things but spent the day reading and absolutely nothing else. Would have been bliss except that Jim has toothache and couldn't get to the dentist-------------

Yes Angie it's wild, wet and windy here in Birmingham.
Unfortunately the managing director of Birmingham Airport was killed when a tree branch went through his windscreen on his way to work.

Keith.

That is sad.
Today is the lull after the storm, bright no rain and absolutely no wind .

Oh my god Keith. I´ve never seen anything like it, I´m surprised it took off, the pilot must have been frightened never mind the passengers.

Hope it calms down over the weekend.

I was at Sainsburys yesterday and their petrol station roof blow off, just heard that a man was killed. It's going to get windy again tomorrow and snow for us Sunday and next week.

Wink "Adrenalin"

I suspect the passengers on "that" plane not only know what "adrenalin" smells like, but can also now tell you the colour!!!
