| Hi im thinking of booking there in july this year but the reviews i have read arent too good. Would you recommend it for myself and husband and 2 kids aged 14 daughter and 8 son. Ty we are planning on hiring a car to explore the island, also is it very windy and cold there as the reviews say? Regards Heather |

| Heather, Costa Teguise can get rather windy, that’s why it’s so popular with WindSurfers. The regular CT’ers will know better but in my experience the wind tends to die down in the evenings. However in July it certainly won’t be cold, maybe you’ll need a cardi at night if the breeze keeps up, but other than that even if it’s cloudy it’ll be warm. Speaking personally (as I’m not a great beach fan) it’s not great at the beach in the wind, if someone stands up 20 yards up wind their sand blows all over you, you’ll have sand every where – EVERYwhere ! | hi dizzy, ive stayed in these apartments many times all tho i havent been back for 2 years.ole is right about the wind but as your going in july you will need every puff of it to cool you down. the wind will also be very warm.night time?you may need a jumper or something. it all depends on where you go around the town.the first time that you venture out at night, take your winter woolies with you:rolleyes and see what you think.i dont think that you will need them. most bars and restuarants are kid friendly and there is lots to do around town. two beaches. one just over the road about a 50 metres away. its safe for the kids to go snorkeling etc as its a lagoon and there are no waves to bother them.the other is to the rear of the hotel, about 500 metres away and it gets quite packed.there are a good few bars and shops around here. try the crepes in the windsurfers bar, made while you wait and any filling you want:tup :tup. taxis are dead cheap, cheaper if you go to the taxi rank outside as they cost more if you order through reception. a bus service to pdc is about a quarter of a mile away, again its cheap. lots of car hire places about. most offer a collection and delivery service to your hotel.you will need a credit card as thats their preffered way of paying.the reception will recommend one for you. if you want any more info etc you can send me a pm or email and i will do my best.and you can always ask here. dave o

| :party Hi Dave and Ole, thanks for all your help sounds like we are going to have a good time we all love snorkling. I booked the holiday now so we are deffo going. We have been going to Turkey and Greece on previous holidays so hopefully this one will be a change for us, although we do love Greece. As its hassle free, Turkey on the other hand was a nitemare for the locals hassling us to buy from their shops and eat in the bars. They used to chase us down the street i hope Lanzarote isnt like this?:omg Cheers Heather x :party |

| dizzy, its nothing like turkey. no hassle from the shops, cafes etc. ive been to turkey myself and i would not go back there for a big clock. you might get a bit off timeshare who give you a "winning ticket" and then you spend 3 hours with a salesman who does his best to flog you one. just ignore them or say no thanks.after you have been there a few days and you have got a bit of a tan they seem to realise that they are on a loser and dont bother you.the last time that we were there, we saw a few getting arrested by the police and taken away. the same happened to the street sellers who ran off when the police were about.the goverment were cracking down on them and it seemed to be working. i dont know what its like now tho, maybe ole could tell you or peggy when she gets back in 3 weeks. the galeon is great for the kids.games all thru the day, competions etc and then the awards in the bar at night, a kids disco and then a profesional entertainer for the parents. lots to do so get them involved. are you going with thomson? they used to have lots of staff to look after the kids.they are not pushy, you can join in if you want or do your own thing. dave o

| Thanks Dave for putting my mind at rest, yes we are going with thomson. Your rite Turkey was a nitemare we stayed at the Aqua Fantasy all inclusive resort it was ace there having its own water park, i would recommend it to anyone but just go for a week as it gets boring the second week as all the shows are repeated, and the food lol. We drank loads of beers and cocktails i never even got a bit tipsy! the food was excellent thou loads to choose from. So im quite looking forward to eating out this time, as we felt like prisoners we were about 5 miles away from the resort. Thanks again for the info. Dizzy x:cheers |

| Dizzy, There are a few timeshare touts around but as Dave says they’re chased away by the Police and so they’re pretty thin on the ground. It must be 4 years since I was last approached by one, and I can't say I've really seen more that 1 or 2 since then. I can’t speak for CT, but in PDC the occasional bar may have a PR person touting for business on the door, usually it’s very polite except maybe for Centro Atlantico where they get a bit more persistent. But it’s really easy to ignore them, don’t let it spoil your day. The key is to not engage in any conversation with them, don’t answer any of their questions just say “no thanks” make no eye contact and pass them by. Cheers - Ole

| Cheers Ole ur a star.:b7 im sure our Turkey training wont have been in vain my 14 year old daughter never even got one bit of hassle she just gave them daggers lol. It was the shop keepers that drove us nuts with "you come in my shop i got good price for you" to which we would say "How much?" lol. we werent the only ones that said how much all the time cos they were speaking in millions, instead of 1 or 2 lira(4 lira was 2 euros)it was confusing when they said 3million 4 thousand and 38 ect. under 4 lira to us but it sounded sooo much. Probably im just thick cos it took me a few days to stop converting from euros to lira at least its euros in Spain lol. Roll on July counting the days till we go. Dizzy lol.:cheers |
